Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers can be used to address volume loss and the appearance of lines and folds. A consultation with Dr Laura will help determine whether treatment is appropriate for you and what results you might reasonably expect.
What Are Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers are a technique used to correct grooves, wrinkles and scars through the injection of Hyaluronic Acid products under the area of skin to be treated, raising it and, therefore, reducing its depth.
Facial ageing involves changes across multiple layers including bone, subcutaneous tissue and skin density. Dermal fillers may be used to address volume loss across these layers, depending on individual anatomy and suitability.
Common treatment areas include the cheeks, mid-face, under-eye region, lips, chin and jawline, nasolabial folds, and temples. Fillers in these areas may help address volume loss, improve contour, and soften the appearance of hollowing or folds. Results vary between individuals.
Dr Laura also has experience treating additional areas including the forehead, eyebrows, eye-socket hollows (A-frame deformity), nose, earlobes and hands.
A consultation will help determine which areas may be suitable for treatment and what outcomes you might reasonably expect.

FAQs
Is Dermal Filler Treatment Right for You?
Dermal fillers may be suitable for individuals looking to address volume loss, facial definition, or asymmetry. A consultation with Dr Laura will help determine whether treatment is appropriate for your individual circumstances and what results you might reasonably expect.
Are dermal fillers painful?
Most patients experience minimal discomfort. We use a topical numbing cream and many fillers contain lidocaine, a local anaesthetic, to ensure a more comfortable experience.
Are there any side effects?
Common side effects include mild swelling, redness, and bruising, which typically subside within a few days. More serious complications are rare but will be discussed during your consultation.
Can dermal fillers be dissolved?
Yes, hyaluronic acid fillers can be reversed using hyaluronidase, an enzyme that dissolves the filler safely if needed.
What is the downtime after treatment?
There is minimal downtime. Most patients return to normal activities immediately, but we recommend avoiding intense exercise, excessive sun exposure, and facial massages for 24-48 hours.
